Our Staff Midwives

My name is Manola McCain, and I am a Certified Nurse-Midwife. I am excited to be partnering with the other providers at St Mary’s Birth and Midwifery Center. I received my Bachelor of Science in Natural Science in 2009, followed by my Masters of Science in Nursing with a specialty in Midwifery from Vanderbilt University in 2011. I worked at a clinic and birth center in Cookeville, TN before getting married and moving to Knoxville. As a Nurse-Midwife, I believe it is my calling to provide information and support to each woman as she makes decisions regarding her health and birth experiences. I view the opportunity to work with women as an honor and privilege; and I hope to provide you and your loved ones with outstanding, compassionate, and honest care.

My name is Blair Hicks and I am a Certified Nurse-Midwife and Family Nurse Practitioner. Although originally from Knoxville, I have lived in Nashville for the last 8 years--receiving a Bachelors of Science in Nursing from Belmont University in 2009 and a Masters of Science in Nursing from Vanderbilt University in 2013. I am overjoyed to be joining St Mary's Birth and Midwifery Center and to be back in my hometown. From my background as an RN in the ICU to volunteer medical work internationally I have had the opportunity to learn from and work in a variety of settings. I felt called to continue my education in Midwifery and Family Practice in order to provide comprehensive care to women and their families both locally and abroad. It is truly an honor to walk alongside women through pregnancy and birth and I hope to respect the sacredness of these moments while providing compassionate care. One of the greatest joys of being a midwife is the relationship-based care, which enables me to listen, educate and support women through all stages of their lives.
